Our name says it all! NavJeewan means ‘new life’- it is the promise of a new life that forms the basis of our core values. Jesus, the epitome of hope and everlasting life, assures us that he has “come that [we] may have life, and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). We believe this is Good News worth sharing with our fellow brothers and sisters. NavJeewan Community Church (NJCC) is a community of people that seeks ways to share the love, hope and forgiveness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. NJCC caters to the needs of English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu speaking people from all walks of life. We also have a ministry for the children and youth in English.
NJCC was founded by the humble servant of God, Rev. Prakash Masih, founder and past President of NavJeewan Christian Ministries. The Church started as a Bible study group of four families in the living room of Pastor Prakash in August 2002. A few months later, in December 2002, the congregation had grown large enough to warrant Sunday Services in a church building.
Our goal is to help nurture a meaningful relationship with God no matter where you are in your spiritual journey. We want people to connect with God in a closer relationship by learning how to pursue God’s presence in their lives. Following a close encounter with God in a real and personal way, we hope to serve our community locally within the GTA.
For us, the Bible is the sole and final source of all that we believe in. We believe that the Bible is the complete, inspired, and infallible Word of God. It is the sole authority on all matters of doctrine and conduct.
Love, serve and unite others with the heart of Jesus.
We, as individuals and as a church community, want to be an effective channel of God's love through Friendship, Discipleship and Worship with a passion for Christ and compassion for people with the unconditional love our God has shown us. We want people to be saved, become disciples, be equipped, empowered and serve the Lord. We want to help people experience the new life that comes with knowing Christ and the great life that comes with loving and serving Him.
Our Mission Statement
The NJCC is committed to reaching out to all people who are interested in worshipping Jesus and learning about the Gospel, especially those with a South Asian background who can identify with the cultural aspects of our services. We inspire and prepare Christians who are committed to taking on the challenge of meeting the spiritual, emotional and social needs of people who are shut-ins due to various reasons and have language and cultural barriers. We strive to do this to the best of our abilities.
We present the uncompromised Gospel and the beliefs of the Evangelical Christian faith to encourage the worship of God and to inspire in all persons a love for Christ, a passion for righteousness and the drive to joyfully pursue our duties to God and our fellow human beings.
We pledge our lives to Christ, to be a welcoming church, having a covenant with each other to demonstrate His Spirit through worship, witnessing and ministering to the spiritual needs of people of this community. We aspire to impact a hurting world with the healing love of Jesus Christ. This Church exists to glorify God by demonstrating the fullness of life that comes through Jesus Christ and by reaching out to others as a caring community of people.
Our pastoral team delivers relevant and challenging messages to create an dynamic and inspiring atmosphere of praise and worship during our services. We have a commitment to prayer and fellowship, a genuine hunger for God’s Word, a sincere desire to exalt Christ and willingness to be led by the Holy Spirit in all that we endeavour to do. The Great Commission we have is outlined in the Gospel of Mark 16:15, He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Goal 1: Make Disciples of Jesus Christ - One of the God-ordained goals, the Great Commission, is established in Scripture for the local church. We aim to serve God and glorify Him through discipleship. (Matt. 28:19-20)
Goal 2: Strengthen, Develop and Renew our Congregation and Community - Equipping the saints (his people) unto the work of the ministry in all its aspects along with their spiritual maturity in the Lord, is another great goal of NJCC (Eph. 4:12-16; Col. 1:28-29).
Goal 3: Worship through Community Service - Living in a free and beautiful nation such as Canada we have an obligation to be loyal citizens. We encourage people to assimilate and become part of the social fibre of this country. Our goal is not only to worship together but also to help those who are new to the country to ease the transition of societal integration. We believe God has given us the grace to serve our fellow human beings and through sharing past experiences.
